Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

My Story

I had a passion for animation from a young age. I just loved the way animation could capture your imagination. I began experimenting with flip book art as a child, but with no clear route into an animation career the dream of becoming a professional animator soon died.

Then one day I wrote a book, "The Gentle Giant of Minotonia". When I published it I quickly began to dream of turning it into a feature length film. I explore routes into animation and found blender. This challenging software gave me a way in and the ambition of being an animator was rekindled.

As with all beginners my early works left a lot to be desired, but with each animation I produced I was learning fast.

I set up my first animation company in 2017, PunkCocker Animations, and went on to create a number of animations. Some were successful. Others were not.

I produced the mildly successful short "The Gentle Giant and the Village". Then I created a number of experimental animations. After that I produced the less successful, "Galactic Warriors". I clearly still had a lot to learn.

I went on to create, "Chip World" which was so popular I began gathering an audience. I was learning fast now, but there were still holes in my knowledge of animation.

After spending a bit of time experimenting with blender and perfecting my animation technique, I created my most successful short to date, "The Guardian and the Gatekeeper.

A couple of years and a few less successful shorts later my circumstances changed which meant that I had to close the company. Two months later I setup Hobby Horse Animations and I'm going to pick up where PunkCocker Animations left off.
